Reviewing for Global South AI: Rethinking AI for and from the Global South, a workshop at the 2026 Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS 2026), running in December 2026 in Sydney, Australia and Paris, France. NeurIPS, the parent conference, is rated A*, the top tier, by the CORE conference ranking.
The workshop asks how AI systems can work under real resource and infrastructure constraints, how they can reflect local languages, cultures, values, and contexts, and how researchers in the Global South can take part as creators rather than only as users. It accepts technical contributions alongside position papers, demos, case studies, deployment experience, community initiatives, educational programmes, and policy perspectives. It is organised by Tushar Shinde of IIT Madras Zanzibar.
