Backend engineer with 15+ years building large-scale billing and financial systems. My work centers on financial correctness, reliability, and the unglamorous engineering that keeps high-traffic, money-moving platforms honest.

At eBay I build and run key parts of the next-generation billing platform, from microservices and public APIs to reconciliation pipelines. I led the seller-and-balance migration and the public-API rebuild, and I now lead AI-enablement: the data contracts, observability, and governance a team needs before AI-assisted workflows can ship safely.

Outside the day job I judge at AI hackathons, speak at engineering conferences, mentor at universities, and peer-review for ACL and ICML. Building things in public (open-source projects, technical writing, community work) is how I keep current and how I give back.

What I focus on

Billing Architecture
Financial correctness, resilience, and operability across microservices and reconciliation pipelines.
API Rearchitecture
High-traffic reliability, performance tuning, and rollout governance on the public API layer.
AI Enablement
Data contracts, observability, and governance so AI-assisted workflows can ship safely and measurably.
Reconciliation Pipelines
Deterministic validations, idempotent processing, and audit-grade financial workflows.

Journey

  1. 2021 – Present

Member of Technical Staff 2 · eBay

    San Jose, CA

Architecture and delivery on eBay's next-generation billing platform. Led the seller-and-balance migration cutover, rearchitected the public API layer for high-traffic reliability, and drive AI-enablement across data contracts, observability, and reconciliation pipelines.

  2. 2015 – 2021

Senior Java Developer · Tata Consultancy Services

Built and owned a specialty-pharmacy platform for Walgreens for reporting on Limited Distribution Drug referrals: near real-time integration with the core dispensing system, prescription tracking and auditing, and manufacturer-contract compliance. Served as technical SME for the domain and led releases end to end.

  3. 2012 – 2015

Java Developer · Tata Consultancy Services

Built merchandising applications for Walgreens covering basic department management, including store and planogram setup, and competitor pricing.

  4. 2011 – 2012

Java Developer · Tata Consultancy Services

Built the STQC-certified NSDL e-Voting web application: government-authorized electronic shareholder voting, aligned with W3C standards, with secure input handling, validation, and functional/database testing.
